    Sha-Shing!

I read in the headlines today that Picasso's "Dora Maar au Chat" went for a whopping 95.2 million dollars at Sotheby's in New York. It is said to be the second highest sale at an auction for a painting, since the record holder..which so happens to be a Picasso, (Garcon a la Pipe). It sold for 104 million at Sotheby's two years ago.

The "Dora Maar au Chat" went to an anonymous buyer who was present at the auction and I can promise you folks, it wasn't me!

    Harry Potter Revealed

Speaking of portraits, it seems that Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) was honored with a portrait painted by Stuart Pearson Wright and added to London's National Portrait Gallery. The painter is producing a series of british actors and the gallery has purchased nine of them for a permanent addition to their collection. The permanent collection includes various mediums of paintings, drawings, carvings, and sculpture of famous people such as William Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth II, Laurence Olivier, and Henry VIII to name a few, so Potter will be in good company.

I found this on a few newssites and have yet to actually see it, assuming there is a picture somewhere on the web. The gallery site itself seems to be down currently, but time will tell. Considering the enormous success of Rowling's Harry Potter, I'm not surprised.
